Hi All,
News: The popular Montreal-based writing project ‘365 Attempts at Life‘ has invited me to write a post every Monday for an entire year. Six other Montrealers in the Entertainment biz will be writing on alternate days. The topic of each post is simply, ‘life’.  Below is my 2nd post, and below this post, is my first post… I will log each post here, along with upcoming news, as I progress through the ensuing 12 months ahead.
Evja, the project with dancers from the Ballet Jazz de Montreal, is shaping up and will be presented at the Outremont Theatre in early January, 2013.
An iPad app I helped develop for the popular children’s book ‘Monkeys in my Kitchen‘ will be released soooooon…Â We are just wrapping up a few loose ends with the technical side of things.. hang tight mothers, fathers, and toddlers.

Paper Napkin
by Courtney Wing
I’ve been a cancer researching fiend as of late. Sometimes perspiration beads bead at my collar line as I bust through web page after web page – collecting, gathering, discarding, denying, accepting, contradicting, comparing, treatment after treatment after treatment – re: to carry my dear auntie Sheila through the doldrums of her stage 4 cancer unto a place of good health. For a commoner, I feel relatively well-versed, in a surface-scratched sense of the term, with the numerous alternative and conventional treatments available to people with cancer. So if ever you or a loved one has been struck by the beast, call me, I’ll be available to drag you across the scratched surfaces so as to hopefully facilitate you finding a surface that you can dig deep into… right to where the roots entwine and resolutions seed – and hopefully you’ll lift your head from the deep with a smile burnin’.
At this point in time, following all that I have learned, if my hand of cards was dwindling and all I had left was a dud card or two, I would opt for the treatment that entailed a strict diet, one in which the words ‘pure’ and ‘organic’ became my meal time meditation… one in which super bolts of live enzymes, (or as doctors and specialists refer to them as: “the little workers that clean, repair, and heal), would be flushed through my body daily. Daily and daily, until the insides of me were restored and renewed. The fight would have to be fiercer than all other fights faced in life, but a must fight, right?
Anyway, on a less heavy note, as I said in my first post, lightness is a necessary tone that must be maintained alongside such stormy weather in life, so here’s a short light blab about how I approach paper napkins…
Sometimes, actually most of the time, when I dine at restaurants that give paper napkins to their patrons, I like to pick up the folded napkin, open an edge slightly, pinch hold of one of the thin corners, and flap it out to the right of me, flicking my wrist a few times as I extend my arm out so that it poofs open, as if I were a magician unveiling a hat that will later unveil something else. Then I let the napkin slowly fall, balanced on the air as I guide it to my lap. If you choose to try this, know that it’s important to keep your flicking arm at table level, or just slightly below, so that nobody catches on to what you’re really up to.
good niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite.
